Angel 2

Angel - virtual needlepoint

12" x 12"

Rafael painted two small angels at the bottom of his famous "Sistine Chapel Madonna". This painting was done in 1513 to 1514 and currently is in the Sempergalerie in Dresden. These angels have a unique character that makes them loved by many people.

This virtual needlepoint is of the smaller angel on the right. The two angels were charted separately so more facial detail could be captured without requiring lots of background stitching. Both charts were to the same scale, so the resulting canvases were of different size.

See my article about Virtual needlepoint.
